The 25th Anniversary of the North York Masters was the largest and most successful to date with 140 golfers turning out on Monday, June 1 to drive, chip and putt their way through the Donalda Golf Course. With great golfing weather, foursomes were treated to a beautiful day on the course, while enjoying many exciting on-course activities.
Thanks to the support of corporate and individual sponsors, donors and golfers, the 2015 Masters Tournament raised almost $340,000, the largest amount in the history of the event. These funds will support the Cancer Care Program and the Freeman Centre for the Advancement of Palliative Care at North York General Hospital. With the support of our community, North York Masters has raised almost $4.8 million over its 25-year history in support of the hospital.
The Masters event is one of Toronto’s most exclusive charity tournaments. Hosted at the prestigious Donalda Club, the event offers participants the chance to golf on a course of unparalleled beauty, winding along the Don River.
The evening featured a silent auction with fabulous items and a live auction, combining to raise $29,665.
This event would not be possible without the generosity of Donalda Club, as well as our many sponsors, helping us make a world of difference to North York General patients and their families.
We also thank our wonderful group of volunteers, who work tirelessly to make this event a tremendous success. The event would not be possible without the contributions of our committee and especially our Co-Chairs, Tom Torokvei & David Hicks.
