North York General Hospital has the good fortune of being supported by a generous community and engaged donors like you. From individual philanthropists, to service clubs and local businesses, we know that we can rely on you to help us enhance our facilities and bring the most up to date equipment and technology to our hospital to help all of our patients when they need it the most.

Community partnerships are incredibly important to our hospital. Your support is vital to ensure that we have the tools to support our growing – and aging – population. That’s why we are grateful to local companies such as Foresters Financial, who chose North York General as the primary benefactor for their annual golf tournament last year.

With a strong history of supporting the community it serves, Foresters Financial describes their purpose as enriching lives and building strong communities. “Foresters Financial is more than your typical financial services provider,” explains Tony Garcia, President and CEO. “We believe in doing more for families and communities, and working with organizations like North York General helps make our purpose a reality.”

Supporting North York General is a natural fit, according to Garcia. Located just a few kilometres from each other, both organizations have grown alongside each other, supporting the needs of our diverse and rapidly growing community for nearly 50 years.

“North York General is a vital pillar of the community and offers families invaluable support when things get tough,” says Garcia. “By supporting our hospital, we’re in turn investing in strong families and communities, which benefits all of us.”

The $60,000 raised at Foresters golf tournament is supporting North York General’s priority needs, including renovations that are currently underway on our 7th and 8th floor, as we create the Steinberg Family Acute Care Unit. Community donations are supporting this expansion which will host 40 state-of-the-art beds and a dedicated stroke unit to further enhance patient flow and reduce bed wait times for our patients.

Your business or community group (including clubs, churches or religious organizations) can make a big impact in the community you serve, too. And, when you give back, you might just be surprised by the response. “We were blown away by the immense support and enthusiasm from our employees,” says Garcia. “Not only did they participate in the tournament, they also helped with the planning and fundraising effort, which is a true testament to how much they embrace and live our purpose – and how much North York General means to them.”

Spring in the air!  Now is the perfect time for your organization host your own golf tournament, BBQ, picnic – or whatever you can dream up – in support of North York General. To find out how, please contact:  Kristina Cundari at 416.756.6802 or Kristina.Cundari@nygh.on.ca
